There are some things that you just must have when you own a dog, or any animal for that matter. Therefore I thought I should make a list of the items that you must have as a dog owner and where you can find them.
So check out the list below and see if you have all of these items, if you don’t, get them today. You will not regret it.
1. Nature’s Miracle Urine Destroyer
If you have a dog (especially if you have a puppy that you need to potty train), you need to have one of these at home if an accident ever happens. It will permanently remove urine odor on carpets, floors, furniture, clothing or any other place you might have gotten dog urine.
If you don’t remove the urine odor after an accident happens, other dogs will smell it and might pee on the same spot.
2. Greenies Dental Chews
If you wanna spoil your dog, you need to have some sort of treat or bone that you can give your dog, both as a reward and to help with bad breath and also get cleaner teeth, is something that you need to always have at home. Might not be an option if you have a dog that is not interested in chewing.
Greenies Dental Chew are the #1 vet recommended dental chew for any dog. They are made from soluble, natural ingredients that will break down very easy and very quickly so you dog can easily digest them. They also have added vitamins and minerals that are low in fat and are nutritonally complete for your dog.
They will also, ofcourse, help with your dogs bad breath, clean their teeths and control plaque and tartar buildup.
3. Foldable Dog Crate
If you ask me, having a dog crate is a must, for several reasons. First of all, you have it in your car to keep you and your dog safe while you are on the road. In my country it’s even illegal to have a dog in the car without a crate.
It can also be perfect for you to take it with you when you go see a friend or family member that isn’t to happy about dogs. If your dog gets hurt somehow and they are not allowed to run around the house, it is also a great tool for that.
Since this crate is foldable it doesn’t take much space at all, even if you have a Great Dane. Just fold it and put it under the bed when you don’t use it.
If you introduce the crate to your dog in the correct way, he will see the crate as a safe zone and a place to get away from all the huslte and bustle in the house (and pesky children!). It will be a place that they can really relax in and do some serious snoozing.
4. Dog Training Pads
If you have a puppy that you need to potty train, or an older dog that can’t hold it as long as he used to. These are perfect. You just place them on the floor and teach your dog to run to them when he needs to pee. The pad will absorb every drop of urine that lands on it and instantly turn it into gel. And it’s 100% odor free.
It is by far the best method out there for potty training a young puppy. Your dog can pee on it 4-5 times without it going through the pad and on to your floor.
If you have these pads and the Natures Miracle Urine Destroyer you are very well prepared for an accident!
5. High Quality Dog Food
A high quality dog food is quite obvious that you must have. I will list a few of the best dog foods that I know of. However, it might not work for every dog. Some food works great for one dog, but doesn’t work at all for another even though the food is of the highest quality. You need to test it out and see how it works out for your dog. Thats why I includ a few options.
If your giving your dog another food right now and you want to switch, you need to do it gradually. You can’t just switch food right away because that will give your dog stomach problems. You need to start by adding a little bit of the new food and then increase it day by day while you decrease the other food.
Taste of the wild
Taste of the wild is a very high quality food that is sold in several differnt stores. The one with vension and lean bison is made from real roasted meats and supplemented with fruits and vegetables. It also delivers natural antioxidants for your dog.
Its 100% grain free and works for dogs in all stages of life. Taste of the wild makes dog food that provides your dog with the same diet that he would find out in “the wild”
What flavour you use on the food is upto you and what your dog likes and can eat.
6. Poop Bag
Poop bags! Please don’t be the dog owner that just looks the other way while your dog is doing is business and then just walks away like you didn’t see it…
It makes me annoyed when people do that. And it’s disgusting to have poop lying around everywhere in cities and our parks. So please pick up after your dog. With this deal you get 900 poop bags for under $15! And you also get a dispenser with a leash clip for easy access when your on your walk.
7. Flea and Tick Collar
Keeping ticks and fleas away from your dog is important. Not just because they are disgusting and might irritate your dog, they also carry several different diseases that your dog can get infected by.
I recommend using a flea & tick collar instead of pills or powder because I have seen several cases where the dog have gotten sick and lost fur and in some cases even died because of the flea & tick protection pills/powder.
Bayer Seresto’s flea & tick collar give protections for up to 8 months and are recommended by veterinarians.
It’s non’greasy and odor free.
8. Dog Training Treats
You should always have a bag of dog treats at home ready to go. You need them if you wanna train your dog to do different tricks or if you just wanna be a good human and give your dog something yummy. Zuke’s Mini Naturals Healthy Moist Training Treats are a favorite for many dog owners and their dogs.
It’s perfect to use as treats for training, it only has 3.5 calories per treat. And the #1 ingredient in these treats is real chicken.
The treats are also packed with antioxidants so they are healthy for your dog. I wouldn’t be suprised if your dog will start loving these wonderful little treats!
9. ID Tag
An ID tag on your dog is for security reason. If he somehow gets lost from you, people will know how to contact you to let you know that they have found your dog. Maybe if Duke, have had an ID tag he might not have been lost for 2 years.
These ID tags are made from aluminum and comes in 8 different shapes and colors. And your allowed to put upto 4 lines of text on both sides of the tag. So you can put your dogs name, your name, where you live, your phone number etc.
Its basically a cheap life insurance for your dog.
10. Dog Toy
Of course you need a toy for your dog so he can have some fun! Toys works great for rewards when you train your dog as well.
And when it comes to dog toys, the possibilites are endless. There are thousands of different dog toys out there. But you need to keep a few things in mind when you are looking to buy your furry friend a new toy.
First of, if your dog likes to chew and destroy his toys, you need to make sure that you buy toys that don’t have any filling or small parts that he can bite lose and choke on. And if it’s a stuffed animal, you will not like it when he rips it to pieces and the filling goes all over your living room floor.
You also need to make sure that the toy doesn’t include any material that is harmful for your dog to chew on. Below I have listed some really great toys that your dog will love!
1. Kong Squeaky Toy
Why don’t you get your furry friend his own furry little friend? Of course might not be a good choice if your dog is a chewer.
However it is filled with minimal filling just to reduce mess. And it squeaks when they bite on it. It also got an extra layer of material just to make it stronger. Comes in 10 different funny characters.
2. Bacon Flavored Chew Toy
If your dog likes bacon (who doesn’t?), he will love this wishbone shaped chewing toy because it tastes like bacon! It is made from super strong nylon and 100% bacon for irresistible flavor and scent!
3. Automatic Ball Thrower
With this toy your dog can play fetch with himself after you get tired. You just teach your dog to put the ball in the cup at the top and the ball will shoot out. It also talks if you want it to, it will say “Good dog” when you put the ball in, and “Get the ball” after its shot out.
So the dog not only gets to play with balls, they also needs to focus and learn something new and exciting.
There you have it! 10 different must have products for dog owners! Some of them are ofcourse more useful then others, but I recommend every dog owner to own the things on this list because it will make you and your dogs life a lot easier and more enjoyable.
